A slightly shorter post here, but I had to share some photos from a recent lunch I had at Swine & Co in Sydney CBD with some work colleagues, as they were some of the prettiest dishes I’ve seen! Swine & Co is a little hidden gem on O’Connell Street and the dining room downstairs has a New York feel about it. It’s a great place for meat lovers and the restaurant is famous for its’ suckling pig! The three of us chose to share two starters to share, the first of which was Tuna Crudo with white anchovies, capers, white balsamic and watermelon. It was served on a beautiful orange block and looked wonderful!
We also shared the black pudding with Harvey Bay scallops, foie gras, lime caviar and quinoa crisp – I’ve always been a little nervous of black pudding but in the spirit of Flavour Adventure I went for it. It was absolutely delicious, certainly a strong and distinctive taste but I won’t be so nervous to try it again.
The main courses were equally fantastic. I chose the fillet steak with bone marrow and lemon. I have to admit the bone marrow wasn’t really for me, but the steak was delicious.
The other two girls both went for the waiter’s recommendation of the pork belly with crackling, pumpkin, tuscan cabbage and pepper jus. I am told this was as incredible as it looks!
I must highlight the exceptional service at this restaurant too – the waiters were very attentive and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the food. I definitely recommend a visit if you want to spoil yourself to a great meat dish!
